Yin yoga is where you hold poses for several minutes at a time, working with your body's connective tissue rather than your muscles. It's not restorative, it's not passive, and it's definitely not easy but it's one of the most transformative practices for your body.


This full-day escape is designed to help you understand and embrace yin yoga from the ground up. We'll begin with the philosophy and science behind why we hold poses, then we'll explore yin postures for every area of your body from often-neglected wrists and feet to the deep hip and hamstring areas.


You'll learn how to set up each pose properly, how to use props effectively and most importantly, how to distinguish between productive discomfort and pain. Through detailed breakdowns and hands-on guidance, you'll discover how to find your edge and stay there with breath and presence.


We'll finish the day with a yin practice where you'll experience the profound stillness and release that comes from truly surrendering into the poses.

What to bring: Your mat and any personal props, water bottle, comfortable loose clothing to practice in and a willingness to sit with discomfort.


Location:

We'll be spending the day at Yoga4you in Cattai, a beautiful escape less than an hour from Sydney CBD. The spacious studio is filled with lush plants, high ceilings and abundant natural light overlooking serene bushland that makes you forget how close the city actually is.


The property sits on 20 acres, offering plenty of space to wander during breaks if you'd like to stretch your legs or connect with nature. It's the perfect setting for a day of practice and reflection. All props including bolsters, straps, and blocks are provided, you just need to bring your own mat.
