About the event

Sometimes we need to come back to the beginning to move forward.

Whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years, this full-day escape strips away complexity and returns you to the foundational elements that make your practice strong, safe and sustainable.


We'll start with a gentle morning flow to wake up the body and prepare it for more physical activity throughout the day. Then, we'll dive into the essentials: the why behind asanas (poses), the mechanics of salutations and the key poses that appear in almost every class. You'll explore proper alignment in poses like chaturanga, upward dog and downward dog and understand how hip rotations create stability and ease in your body.


Through hands-on breakdowns and mindful exploration, you'll gain a deeper understanding of poses and how to find steadiness from within. We'll close the day with a yin practice to unwind and release the body.


This isn't about perfecting poses. It's about understanding them. You'll leave with practical tools to refine your practice, prevent injury and feel more confident on your mat with knowledge on how to modify poses to make them more or less challenging.

Suitable for: All levels, including complete beginners. If you've ever felt confused in a yoga class or wanted to understand the "why" behind what you're doing, this day is for you.


What to bring: Your mat and any props you use, water bottle, comfortable clothing for a practice and an open mind.


Location:

We'll be spending the day at Kurrajong Trails and Cottages, nestled on 100 acres in the rugged Hawkesbury sandstone ridges at the foothills of the Blue Mountains. Set inside the Wollemi National Park and overlooking Wheeny Creek, the property offers a peaceful escape from the everyday.


Our yoga space is filled with natural light and temperature controlled for your comfort. Depending on the weather, we may take advantage of the beautiful outdoor spaces, and there are plenty of serene spots to relax in during breaks as you take in views of the wetlands and surrounding landscape.
